1.  What is your essential question?

How does an Actor best use Method Acting to prepare for a role?

2.  What is your second answer to your essential question (write your second answer in a complete sentence)?

The second answer to my essential question is "Using the training and discipline to your advantage in order to attain that steady balanced state of acting."

3.  What are three details to support or justify your second answer (details are examples or facts)?

- The fact that actors take acting classes
- The fact that actors require constant rehearsal
- The fact that actors need a steady system of trial and error, to try and understand the director

4.  What source helped you prove this answer is justified for your essential question?

- Through my independent component #1. I witnessed firsthand how many tries it took to get the role just right.

5.  What do you plan to study next with your second answer and why?  (You would say "I plan to continue my study of answer 2 by doing ____________"?)

I plan to continue my study of answer by doing my second independent component. Now I will be able to witness firsthand many different styles and plays that people are putting together by doing Fullerton Festival.

Independant Component #2 Approval

(1) Write a description of what you plan on doing for your independent study component.

I will be performing in a piece at the Fullerton Theater festival this year.

(2) Describe in detail how you think your plan will meet the 30 hours work requirement.

It will require several hours of steady concentrated research into the piece. I will have to memorize the piece. After that will be the performance at the Fullerton Theater festival.

(3) How does your independent study component relate to your working EQ?

It will allow me to study what I have been talking about in presentation. I will be able to discover (by using method acting) just how it works into researching your role and being prepared for a top quality performance.
